Urban Landscapes

I live in a big city, and until recently have always chosen to leave my urban surroundings and escape to the beauty of the natural world. Then recently, I thought, "Why? What IS beauty, anyway?" I am discovering that even when it's completely unintentional, the city is full of beauty, in balance, textures, and the play of light off of various surfaces. In this collection I explore the idea of beauty in the urban environment, and incorporate my love of collage with acrylic painting. I love the way collage opens up new possibilities for playing with textures and patterns.
