About the Artist

An artist from Scarborough, Ontario 

I began my artistic explorations as a classically trained clarinetist and music educator. I realized fairly early that the arts bring me peace and provide a meaningful outlet for self-expression. I find joy in creating things that are beautiful and in encouraging others to explore their own abilities to express themselves through the arts. My passion for visual art began after my children were born, when I discovered that the permanence of visual art provides a different kind of satisfaction from creating music and presents so many new possibilities. 

Over the past 18 years, I have explored a variety of media, including acrylics, oils, and paper collage, focusing mainly on landscape and figurative work. Most recently, I have been developing my skills painting en plein air, in which each moment is a multi-sensory experience and presents a new and unique set of challenges.
